Upgraded your iPhone to OS 3 but files are missing?

by Aidan Fitzpatrick

With the recent release of OS 3 and the iPhone 3G S, we've been getting a lot of email about our iPhone Backup Extractor. It seems people all over the world are trying to access their iPhone backups to restore missing text messages and contacts. Our tool lets you see exactly what is in your iPhone backup and allows users to restore specific files from their iTunes backups.

Today's release adds new functionality, whereby Windows users can easily restore their contact lists, text messages, notes and call history to CSV files. From there it's easy to import them into email or webmail clients, Excel, or to type back into the phone!

Happy upgrading!

This tool is awesome! I tried to upgrade my iPhone from 2.2 to 3.0 OS and the upgrade process crashed leaving my phone in the so called "recovery mode" I needed to get some really important media files out of my phone and could not get any help from Apple support on how to access the data from my most recent backup. They kept telling me to restore to factory settings - aka loose all my data. But your tool came to the rescue. I was get all my files out. BRAVO!
