Scalability 101: there must be a better way

I found myself on trip to the VSNL data-centre in Stratford today, to inspect a fairly small roll-out of equipment and to oversee installation more. It's a data-centre I've visited before, when searching for a suitable home for a number of racks for another client.
There's always something that stands out on a trip to a data-centre, and this time it was the racks and racks of PS3s and XBox 360s in one of the corners. Like some data-centres I've seen, with stacks of 1U servers each with a mini-USB connector running around the front to clamped on Nokia phone, there must be a better way do this!
