"Typical" GNOME theme for Ubuntu

“Typical” combines the best features of several existing window manager themes for GNOME (Clearlooks, Silicon, Human) and introduces some new. It is an adaptation of the ClearlooksClassic theme, with a number of features:

  • It does not rely on PNG images for its icons: it draws directly
  • It uses fewer lines, tints and gradients than many of the other themes, and is a smaller file than Clearlooks
  • It doesn't bother to alpha-blend on selection colours where it only needs to lighten or darken
  • It has much clearer “unminimize” (restore) icon
  • It accents close buttons, but in keeping with the GTK colour-theme, rather than arbitrarily
  • Titlebar buttons are drawn to be square (unlike Human or Silicon) and 3D (unlike Clearlooks)
  • It has rounded top corners, like Clearlooks
