iPhone Backup Extractor supports iOS Call history data access for consumers.

iOS Call history data available for developers via ricloud API.

The first call ever made publicly on an iPhone was in 2007, by Steve Jobs, during the Apple keynote event. That day also marked the beginning of a new chapter in the history of the phone. With the evolution of the iPhone, perceptions around making calls have changed, and the kind of information shared in a conversation is possibly more sensitive or personal than that of text or email.

In 2013, 6 years later, Apple launched Facetime, which was also added to any user's call history. Starting with iOS 10, any app that uses CallKit started sending call entries to the user's general call history, making data extraction all the more comprehensive.

The iPhone Backup Extractor provides ready access to iOS call history data for consumers, and the Reincubate Cloud Data API provides programmatic access to this data. Feeds of this data include call records from any apps which support CallKit, including WhatsApp, Skype, FaceTime and many others.

Call history data includes information on incoming, outgoing and missed calls, along with duration and contact data. This data is available from real-time iCloud CloudKit data, and from iOS and iCloud backups.

Working with call history data from Apple devices

The ricloud API makes call history data available in an easy use JSON format. It is accessible using the call_history module. Here's a sample of some of that data:

 {
  "call_history": [

      "duration": 1.0,
      "answered": false,
      "from_me": true,
